Inspiration - Zimbabwe 1983
An elephant moved through a Zimbabwe forest not far from the Zambezi River. Encountering him unexpectedly I had invaded his personal space. This was grounds for an elephant charge, oftentimes bluff but occasionally real. The young bull threw his head high, ears outstretched, and charged, stopping little more than fifteen yards away. He wheeled half around and retreated keeping one eye fixed on me. Again he charged, and yet again in great clouds of dust, standing firm as I quickly backed away.
