It was mid-morning in the Masai Mara, the fresh chill of dawn had given way to warmer breezes. Three giraffes appeared in the
distance, two adults and one youngster. We cut the engine, let the Landrover roll to a stop, and waited. As the three passed
they lapsed into an easy run, appearing to move in slow motion as only giraffes can do. Loose washes of color throughout this
painting enabled me to better convey the sense of seamless movement.
